Newest Obsession

I made the mistake of picking up a small bag of White Chocolate M-n-Ms a few weeks ago....

Then I picked up a big bag of them.

And another big bag of them.

And another big bag of them.

Turns out, MnMs are my downfall. Especially the White Chocolate ones.

I'm trying to make peace with my downfall--to come up with a way to still enjoy these delicious confections, but not expand my waistline. So tonight, I decided to incorporate them into a larger snack idea which I also love: Trail Mix.

In a big bowl I mixed up granola, Almonds, Raisons, MnMs, and Peanut Butter chips, and Voila! Now I have a snack with that delicious white-chocolatey taste and nutritive value to boot!

DELIGHTFUL!

(And with all that fiber I can't eat much in one sitting! hehe).

I am Jamie's sister- the one who lives in Ohio- I have really enjoyed your blogs. You have a wonderful writing style- it keeps me laughing, and interested to hear what you will write next. I hope you will some day publish a book- I would be sure to buy one! I just finished reading about the white chocolate m&m's- I must say it seemed as though I wrote that myself- except for the part about trying to make it healthier- and trying not to eat as much of them- I too bought a small bag, then a couple more, then found them at the grocery store (I only saw them at the movie rental place first- but couldn't find them anywhere else)- and it has went downhill from there- I just finished my 5th 1 lb bag of them this morning.....I will try your idea of trail mix.. I have gained 5 lbs already ----yikes!!!!!!!

I like the idea of mixing the M&M's with trail mix. They show up from time to time in my MRE's too! Yum!

Enjoy! :)

Good thing I have not found the white chocolate M&M's because they would easily become my new obsession too.
At work, the VP insisted on having M&M's handy so I would come up with all sorts of reasons to go upstairs to "check on" Elisabeth, her assistant. But it was really to feed my addiction. Then, Mike, the president, started keeping the peanut ones in his office too. So, now the plain ones were on Elisbeth's desk for Anne to get and the peanut one's in Mike's office. Mike started to see a lot of me.
After Anne got tired of the plain M&M's Elisabeth started to buy the small bags just for me. But, she knew I was on weight watchers so would help me limit my intake and would give me a few little bags and tell me "I don't want to see you sneaking into Mike's office for another week". She was so good to me.
I guess now I need to find those White Chocolate ones. Do they make Dark Chocolate ones yet? If not, I am sure they will be in heaven!!
