Aquarium

We took off one day to go to the Seattle Aquarium again. We had a wonderful time. Carolyn's favorite part was meeting the scuba diver. I'll tell you a little bit about that in a minute.

Here is Carolyn with the Scuba Diver. He was cleaning the tanks and Carolyn was just fascinated. She went from pane of glass to pane of glass following after him, and he loved playing with her through the glass. He gave her high fives. At the last panel of glass, he needed to clean a pane that had a starfish on it. So, he moved the starfish down to where Carolyn was. She was delighted about her "special present." Later, the scuba diver was wandering around the aquarium himself, and he ran into us. He told Carolyn, "I saw you through the glass!" She was really shy and didn't say much, but she eventually gave him a high five. She hasn't stopped talking about him yet!

A Great Week

We had Andy home for a week. It was delightful, and we lived it up like it was a vacation.

Daddy brought the girls glowsticks.

Abbie especially loved hers.

Andy finally got a shot of one of our favorite signs on the island. We think the little guy running up the hill is a little bit comical.

Steps!

Abbie took 4 steps across a short distance tonight on two separate occasions into her Mama's arms.

She's about to take off running, folks!

Carolyn Vs. the Rocking Chair

Well, this was a milestone I'd prefer not to have reached. First stitches.

After supper tonight, while we were discussing which movie to chill out to (Strawberry Shortcake was the flick of her choice), Carolyn somehow or other managed to fall or jump off of our couch (she was wiggling at least) and land with a sickening thud against the edge of our rocking chair.

So we took our second trip to Urgent Care this week. The first was to get antibiotics for a nasty case or bronchitis. Carolyn has been in the same cubicle in the ER THREE different times now. Each time she's had to be held down for something. Now when we walk in there she says, "I don't like this room! I want to get out of this room!"

The nurse asked at one point if my husband was here. I shook my head no and she said, "They never are when this happened." Yep. This IS a Naval community.

Anyway, it was a rough night, but we finished it out with a stop for ice cream and Dora Bandaids, and that seemed to help. She's fascinated with looking at her wound in the mirror. What can I say? Carolyn is hardcore.

Right after we got home. Notice the Hello Kitty bandaid. Doesn't she look like she's been through a war?

Easter Preparations and Other Such Fun

Photobucket
Abbie is thinking about being a knick-knack when she grows up.

She also tried on some baby Nike's this morning.

Photobucket
Coloring Easter Eggs was... intense with Carolyn! She LOVED putting the eggs in the cups. Sure, we broke five different eggs, but that's why we bought an 18 count carton!

Photobucket

Photobucket
She also really liked putting stickers on them.

This evening the girls put the eggs in their Easter Baskets in anticipation for them to be replaced with goodies in the morning.

I don't think they'll be disappointed.
